A Sustainable Grant Program Rooted in Ethical Partnership

Through disciplined practice, ethical conduct, and clear agreements, the Aim of Ti[NA] Grant Program seeks to cultivate sustainable prosperity that extends beyond the individual to the wider community.

Africa holds immense potential—driven by local knowledge, resilience, and innovation. The Aim of Ti[NA] Grant Program exists to support that potential through structured, responsible investment in small businesses.

This is not charity. It is not debt.
It is a partnership model designed to build long-term independence and shared prosperity.

Grounded in principles of fairness, accountability, and stewardship reflected in the Qur’an, the program supports entrepreneurs in building businesses that sustain both their families and their communities.

The Program

  • This program is not a donation-based initiative.

It is a structured partnership model in which:

    • Capital is deployed with accountability

    • Risk is shared

    • Returns are distributed ethically

The program operates in alignment with key Islamic financial principles, including:

    • Prohibition of interest (riba)

    • Avoidance of excessive uncertainty (gharar)

    • Commitment to fair and transparent exchange

  • The program currently offers two funding tiers:

    • USD $2,500

    • USD $5,000

Funding amounts are determined based on business needs, readiness, and operational scope.

Funding is released in stages based on progress, not as a lump sum. This ensures:

    • Responsible use of funds

    • Ongoing support and accountability

    • Stronger long-term outcomes

  • Before receiving funds, each participant must choose one of two financial models. These models explain how profits from the business will be shared. The first option is the Guild Model, where profit (the money left after business expenses) is divided into three equal parts. One-third goes back to the program to support future businesses, one-third is kept by the business owner as income, and one-third is placed into a charitable endowment known as a Waqf, which benefits the wider community.

The second option is the 1/5 Model. In this model, the business owner keeps 80% of the profit and returns 20% to the program. This continues for an agreed period of time. Both models are designed to be fair and sustainable, and the one you choose must be agreed upon before funding begins.

  • Participation in the program requires commitment and discipline.

    You agree to:

    • Use funds only for your business

    • Follow your approved budget

    • Keep clear financial records

    • Share regular updates

    You Will Need to Provide:

    • Financial reports (monthly or quarterly)

    • A short video update

    • 1–2 photos of your business

We Provide A Different Approach to Funding

  • No interest (riba)

  • No dependency model

  • Shared responsibility

  • Long-term thinking

It is designed to circulate opportunity, so each business helps make the next one possible.

  • “Trade with honesty, and your wealth will have roots.”

    Swahili Coast Trading Tradition

  • “Service to people is a path to nearness to God.”

    Tijaniyya Teaching

  • "Knowledge is a light that guides action."
